BTS: Photo Retouch – The Foggy Arch

The shoot took place on top of a parking garage in downtown St. Louis, MO. It was early in the morning (about 6am) and the fog was very dense. So dense you couldn’t even see the top of the arch. I was originally there for a shoot but plans fell through so I took the opportunity to practice using my strobe.

It took about 5 shots to get the lighting on the car right using a single Alien Bee B800 strobe. After the shoot I went into photoshop and merged the photos into one. The process was recorded in this video along with some other retouching and experimentation during post that I normally do with my photos. In realtime the retouching process was about an hour long but for time sake I sped it up to fit within 5 minutes.

If you have any questions feel free to comment or email me.

Enjoy!
